Extractions

An extraction is simply the process of removing a tooth. There can be several reasons that an extraction is necessary, such as those listed below:

• The tooth is damaged or decayed beyond repair
• There is advanced bone loss around a tooth
• The extraction is required for orthodontic treatment or dentures
• There is inadequate space for wisdom teeth

Most extractions can be done at the Emo Dental Clinic or Fort Frances Dental Centre. In some cases, such as if the extraction is complicated or you would prefer IV sedation, we may refer to an oral surgeon.
